La Grande December 11. J McLain manager of the Elevator and Machine Company was severely injured yesterday evening when caught by a revolving shaft in the engine room. His clothes were torn from him and he was hurled 15 feet against the wall, his left leg broken in two places and serious injuries to head and body.
Baker City December 11 three expert accountants are auditing Baker county officials. They are currently examining the sheriff and will within a week review the clerk’s records. The Panhandle addition prompted a countywide rearrangement and a full export of records was considered by the county court.
