A. Glass, cashier of the First State Bank at Point Texas, crawled on his hands and knees to Deputy Sheriff Will Thorne’s home after a bandit shot him in the back and robbed the bank. Glass obtained two hundred and fifty dollars and no trace of the robber was found.
Dec 5 in Salem Clare Rauscher jumped or fell from a second story window at the Stars hotel. Her skull was fractured. Police arrest J W Kreuts of Buena Vista, a hotel clerk says he registered the girl as Kreutz's sister.
The War Department announced that six thousand border militiamen will be returned home immediately and mustered out. The order includes the Second Idaho Infantry.
The French battleship Sufren was lost after leaving Gibraltar for Lorient on November 24. Seven hundred thirty men were aboard. most are believed dead. Also, the British liner Caledonia sank off Glasgow. twelve years old and steel construction. American concerns note the Caltegria and Dirkhehy transport losses since the war began.
