Despondent minister shoots self in West Webb Street shed
Rev. John Reeves, a well known South Methodist minister, died after placing a revolver to his head around 6:30 am. He was found by his wife in the woodshed at 801 West Webb Street. An inquest returned that he died by a gunshot from an Ivor Johnson 38 caliber revolver. He left a wife and seven children, plus four grown sons from a previous marriage, and had been selling life insurance while serving the church in Weston and Vancouver.
