Fine water supply for La Grande from Beaver Creek

A special committee report to La Grande council endorses Beaver creek as a pure abundant water source. They estimate 7.64 million gallons daily at the sampling point, with potential 2.5 million gallons daily if bedrock measured. Pipe line about 2.5 miles long could bring water to La Grande, 13.5 miles away, from a watershed in the Blue Mountains. The report asserts sufficient flow for a permanent, high quality supply and notes timbered watershed and strategic land options.
