Wheat Value at Sixteen Cents in Big Bend Farm Report
A statement for President Twohy of Old National Bank by H. Haynes of Harrington argues that with modern farming methods and large-scale cultivation wheat in the Big Bend can reach 16 cents per bushel. The piece notes that small farmers cannot achieve this rate, while extensive, efficient farming and advanced machinery enable the high valuation.

Walnuts Grow at Walla Walla in County Orchards
Planter growers in Walla Walla county report white or English walnuts thriving in several plots and some trees yielding fine specimens. Trees planted 15 to 20 years ago began maturing with help from seasons, while California nut trees prosper there as well. Nurseries sell the produce and young trees grow rapidly before maturing. Some women would worry if they were in heaven for fear their halo wasn't on straight.
