J T Huston of Ukiah sold a carload of fat steers to farmer Anderson near Milton at 2.90 per hundredweight. Huston, who holds 50 to 80 head not yet market ready, plans to buy about 200 head for feeding and selling next year, seeing hope of an advance in prices.
The Central Labor Council will decide next Sunday night on observing Labor Day. The council supports the project though attendance was small at the last meeting. The Foley Hotel in La Grande Oregon will add sixty rooms within three months to meet rising travel and city growth. J L Mars was awarded the contract by proprietor J Foley, with total cost including furnishings over 60000 dollars.
