Long Lake coffer dam swept away by high Spokane River
The Spokane River rose to levels not seen since 1894 with 1923.3 feet above sea level at the upriver station and 28,000 cfs at Misalon avenue bridge. The high water swept away half of the frame coffer dam at Long Lake while city pumping plants and mills faced flooding threats. Wing walls are being raised and bridges secured as conditions evolve.
