Artesian Water Strike Affects Inland Empire Wells
Gano & Son of North Yakima struck an artesian well Thursday night at 925 feet, producing a strong flow that could irrigate at least 169 acres. The water matches regional temperatures and will allow lower prices as demand rises. The firm proposed selling power to the city at a fixed price, a plan favored by many despite city plant ownership concerns.

Electric Road Boosts Business In Walla Walla Milton Run
Dayton dispatch reports R. R. & N. passenger agent C F Vandewater of Walla Walla says the electric line between Walla Walla and Milton initially carried no passengers or freight, but by week four saw 20 to 125 percent business growth with up to 16 carloads of produce in a day. He argues electrification accelerates regional development and yield, while warning that large farms monopolize land to the detriment of the country.
