Reprieve Granted in Wetter Murder Case at Idaho County

Wetter, condemned for first degree murder in Idaho county over the July 15 killings of L. D. Long and Chris Waln near a camp in the Warren mining district, is granted a reprieve to July. The case stems from a mining claim dispute ending in gunfire. Wetter was twice sentenced, upheld by the supreme court, and returned to Granneville before a second sentence. A separate report notes a fatal ferry accident near the Big Buttes, a 14-year-old passenger saved, and a bystander missing.
