Few Cattle Die in Meacham Creek District Says Stockman
E J Wilbur, a Wilbur stockman from Meacham Creek, reports grass growth is good and only about 10 head cattle died in the district during winter after a weak group from Helix were driven to Uma tilla breaks. He dismisses reports of hundreds perishing as unfounded and notes late hay feeding kept cattle in good condition. At a Commercial Association meeting, plans to merge with the Sportsmen's Association were discussed, with the idea referred to the membership committee for study. H J Stillman, president of the Sportsmen, said the plan had not been discussed by his group and he would back any arrangement that benefits the Commercial Association.
