Local notes report numerous weekend and week long trips by residents visiting relatives in Denver Denver area Chicago Milwaukee Battle Creek and other points. Several families attend games visit siblings and friends while others return from vacations in California Pennsylvania and Canada.
Willard Prather announces twenty five courses for the adult education program beginning the first week of October. New this season are a reading acceleration course, a civil defense course free to participants, and a course on freedom versus commerce offered with the Foxville Chamber of Commerce. Eight courses remain as traditional options.
A list of admissions and class offerings from the Pella area, noting patients admitted or dismissed on September 24 and 25, and detailing fall courses with instructors. Highlights include Economics and Government taught by Ralph Capitani, and a range of beginning, typing, shorthand, bookkeeping, and crafts courses led by local instructors.

Tennis lessons learn the fine points of the game while playing Thursdays with George Funk. Physical Fitness for Women and Men offered Mondays and Thursdays with Thelma Stoddard and Tom Cook respectively. Music Workshop in Church Music led by Marvin E Kelley Thursdays. County Line Blue Belles elect new officers Sept 15 led by Doris Buckley and Phyllis Steenhoek with a full slate of committees. Installation night planned and Judy Kaldenberg Janis McConaghey demonstrated an ice cream layer cake.
