Corn Prices Likely to Rise This Winter and Spring
Iowa State College farm economist Francis Kutish says large amounts of soft corn will cut into loans and be cleaned up by feed lots, likely lifting prices more than usual in midwinter and spring. He notes the national loan rate and a 3,163 million bushel crop with 950 million carried over, with export demand possibly rising due to poor crops abroad.
