Tien Huyser wedding vows spoken in Prairie View

On August 28 at 8 00 p m Miss Dorothy Tien daughter of Mr and Mrs Ger rit Tien Prairie View Kansas and Gerald Huyser son of Mr and Mrs Frank W Huyser Pella Iowa were united in marriage at Lucior Christian Reformed Church Prairie View Rev William Huyser brother of the groom officiated. The bride wore Satapeau gown with Alencon lace seed pearls and pink rose cascade. Family members and friends attended a formal reception in the church basement followed by a wedding trip to New Mexico Arizona and southwest Colorado. The couple reside at 1377 25th Street Des Moines Iowa. The bride is a Registered Nurse at Iowa Lutheran hospital and the groom works for the Internal Revenue Service.

Legion Auxiliary Pot Luck Meeting At Pella

The American Legion Auxiliary held a pot luck supper at 6 30 pm before its regular business meeting led by Beryl Vanden Berg. Minutes and reports were read, the treasurer received a donation, and plans were set for the Sixth District Fall Conference to be hosted by Pella on Oct 24 with registration from 8:00 to 9:00 and coffee and Dutch letters for visitors.

Pella Rotarians hosted a Ladies Night at the Pella Golf and Country Club on Tuesday evening. Davies attends Pella Community High School living with the Van Tuyls. Cliff White introduced guests. Arvin Menninga and Dave Kruidenier spoke with birthdays for Bill Van Tuyl and Dr T G Fultz noted. Sound of Music cast members from Central College provided musical entertainment.

Stanton Eysink Birthday Party With Five Guests

Twelve children attended the birthday gathering for Stanton Eysink, son of Roland Eysink, at his home on Saturday October 10. Stanton’s fifth birthday occurred the prior Wednesday October 5, and the event featured a blowing contest for a celebratory treat.

Loon up and popping it with a prize for the winner brought laughs. A birthday cake baked by grandmother Mrs Gerrit Eysink was decorated in yellow and blue with five yellow candles, all blown out by Stanton. Ice cream cake and juice were served as cheerful youngsters sat at tables with matching dishware. Birthday party for John Daryl Gosgelink celebrates 10th

John Daryl Gosgelink invited schoolmates to the Shelter House on Saturday afternoon October 10 to celebrate his 10th birthday. Guests included Gordon Gritters Stuart Bandstra Randy Nieuwsma Jerry Bandstra Peter Gosselink Paul Van Ryswyk Bruce Lietstra Doug Sturéma and Bruce Vos. The table featured a ship steering wheel cake with October colors and nautical place settings. Mrs. Gosselink served hot hamburgers chocolate milk and cake as games and contests entertained the boys.

Cadets hike and camp as merit badge project

Fourteen Cadets met at Calvary Christian Reformed Church on Friday October 2 for a ten mile hike toward earning the Camping Wreath merit badge. Cadet Leader John Lanser guided them by station wagon from Fella to Highway 92 east of Knoxville. The return hike to Pella ended at the Lansers home with hot chocolate milk rolls and cookies. Separately older Cadets led by Dale Gosse link and Stan De Vries conducted an overnight cook-out and river trip down the Des Moines River to Elk Rock, pitching tents and climbing Elk Rock for a view of the surrounding area. The Vernon’s corner pickup ended the morning. Yellow perch fishing note ends with bait advice.
