Oskaloosa area residents raise funds and oats to aid the Netherlands project. The Hol land oats drive reports over $2,000 in cash and about 450 bushels donated. The Mahaska committee then bought a 2 600 bushel carload in Minneapolis at 62 cents per bushel for shipment, with the Dutch government covering transport.

Aged Marion Co Woman Sentenced On Arson Charge
Judge Marion G Kellum sentenced Anna Schaefer an aged Marion County woman found guilty of arson. She admitted setting fire to a barn chicken house and farm home on Herbert Gass's property in September. Sheriff Van Hemert took her to the Iowa Women's Reformatory on Friday. She cited vengeance from a business dispute as her motive.

Twirlerettes and drum major chosen for Central Bay band
Ruth Van Ee, a sophomore, is selected as drum major for the Central Bay marching band led by Robert Brittell with Doris Smith, freshman, directing the corps of flag and baton twirlers.
