Thoughtful reflections on politics leaves autumn dull
The piece argues intemperate political talk harms public discourse as three weeks remain until an election. It notes leaves lose their autumn color, forecasts an Indian summer, and urges practical garden care rather than burning leaves. It laments mail service curtailment and questions government efficiency, while reporting a Holland to Brazil emigration movement by Calvinists forming Group Emigration Brazil, aiming to settle 12,000 acres in Parana with substantial livestock and equipment, echoing Pella Dutch history.
