Five Girls Voted Homecoming Queen Candidates at Pella High
The Pella High student body selected five senior girls for the 1965 homecoming court. Susan Kuyper, Aye Van Wyk, Marlo Van Wyk, Gayle Wesselink, and Farrer were named nominees by ballots where each student chose four names. The court will be presented October 12 at Skit Night with performances in instrumental and vocal divisions led by named quartets and accompanists.

Band to present Homecoming show at Pella High
The Pella High band will stage a special halftime show at the Homecoming game on October 15. The drill team directed by Miss Storjohann will perform a precision drill to Peter Gunn and a Steam Heat dance. The band honors all PHS graduates attending the game and the homecoming queen and attendants will be announced. A featured guest will be revealed that night.

Teachers Attend Education Meet at State College of Iowa
Teachers from Pella Community Schools attended the elementary education conference at State College of Iowa Cedar Falls on Saturday September 25. Speakers Dr Eli Bower NIH and Dr Hanne Hicks IU outlined early detection of emotional disturbance and the role of teachers as inspirations and researchers. The event featured sixty two sectional meetings and distributed free educational materials.
