Reasnor Farmer Adopts Confinement Hog System
Reasnor area farmer Tom De Vries shifts to confinement hog farming to boost capacity. He expanded to 600 to 1,500 hogs annually, invested $75,000 in a complete AZA feed system and confinement buildings from Mahaska Industries. He plans careful management, self-contained operations, and hands-on feeding for individual sows. 4-H notes follow about youth programs and national reach.
