Nick Branderhorst Opens Florist Store After Storm
About 1600 people attended the open house at Nick and Nellie Branderhorst's remodeled floral shop and greenhouses in south Pella. The event marked a second grand opening after hail destroyed the earlier stock and greenhouses. Visitors saw a 40 by 46 foot show room with bouquets plants and new gift lines. Door prizes roses for ladies cigars for men and specials like Harvest Giant mums were offered. Nick plans a drive in garden center and expects Easter lilies to arrive soon.

Mrs G L Bartus Klyn Dies at 75 in Pella Iowa
Obituary notes the birth of Mrs G L Bartus Klyn on September 7 1885 in Coalport Iowa and her death September 26 1960 in Pella at age 75. She married G L Bartus Klyn February 24 1905 in Otley Christan Reformed Church and left six children Gerrit Flora Ed Anne Agnes Miendert Fannie Maria Agnes. Funeral services were held at the First Christian Reformed Church Pella with internment at Graceland Cemetery.
