Marion County Board Minutes August 16 1965 Proceedings and Decisions
Marion County Board of Supervisors met with all members present on August 16 1965. They approved last meeting minutes, discussed quotations from Vivin Equipment and Gloria Cooke Equipment and allocated purchases including a No 12 Caterpillar and LeTourneau equipment with trade ins. The board accepted the resignation of a county road employee effective August 13 1965 and set a seven ton limit on Marion County Bridge 10 while authorizing purchase of a used Ford with trade in. They proposed road projects for the Iowa State Highway Commission funding program and approved retail cigarette permit for A and TV Food Market. A lengthy list of county claims and supplies was approved. The board established a new road for land development access and adopted the Supplemental Secondary Road Construction Program for 1965. They resolved to levy a 4 mill additional poor fund tax for the next fiscal year with State Comptroller approval. The meeting adjourned with the usual formalities.
