Valley High of West Des Moines beat Pella High 21-12 to spoil the Little Dutch South Central Conference title bid. Valley struck early with a 70 yard drive, added two second quarter touchdowns, and held Pella scoreless after halftime. Prospective Teacher Day at Central College
Central College hosts Prospective Teacher Day on Tuesday November 13 inviting thousands of Towa high school students to tour campus observe teacher education in action. Events include a 9am welcome in Douwstra Chapel by Dr Gerrit T. Vander Lugt and Rev Dick W. Vriesman followed by a 10 15am visit to Webster Elementary. Afternoon sessions feature a 12 50pm program in the chapel with a Jase Workshop and a panel discussion with local educators. At 2pm group meetings cover teaching areas from primary to languages and a closing social in the Student Union hosted by the Central College Chapter of the Future Teachers of America.

Iowa Farm Bureau Federation resolutions committee will convene Friday with representatives from nearly a dozen groups to review issues and draft state resolutions for submission to voting delegates at the Des Moines convention later this month.
