Baumholder Germany Army 2nd Lt Carl E Boat 28 son of Mr and Mrs J Gilbert Boat 611 Broadway Pella Iowa has been joined in Germany by his wife Delores Lieutenant Boat who graduated from Iowa State College in 1955 is assistant executive officer in Battery B of the 593rd Field Artillery Battalion He has been overseas since last June A member of Beta Theta Pi fraternity the lieutenant entered the Army in February and completed basic training at Fort Sill Oklahoma.
Pvt. Dick Van Zemeren RA 17478305 of Company D 39th Battery Regiment is stationed at Fort Carson Colorado. He had previously been stationed at Fort Chaffee Arkansas.

General Carlos P Romulo will head speakers at the State School Board Association Convention in Des Moines, appearing tonight at Veterans Memorial Auditorium. Other highlights include talks by William A Shannon and Dr Laurence Flaum, with multiple buzz sessions and a large assembly of over 200 delegates. Exhibitors from Iowa will showcase items from chalk to school buses, with free admission to sessions.

Nieuwsma Harold and Mrs Nieuwsma of Oskaloosa Route 1 welcomed a daughter born November 7 at Mercy Hospital in Oskaloosa. Roose Wilbur and Mrs Roose of Leighton welcomed a daughter born November 11 at Mercy Hospital in Oskaloosa. Permar Elbert and Mrs Permar of Story City Iowa welcomed a seven pound daughter born Tuesday November 13. Mrs Permar before marriage was Darlene Braam.
Conservation Commission reminds townsfolk of closed seasons and opening periods for species like squirrels partridge quail deer raccoon waterfowl pheasant and rabbit. Open trappings include mink muskrat beaver and others with continuous seasons for fox weasel and coyote. Steve Bell wins the right to represent Central at Bradley after taking first in a Central College newscasting contest held last Thursday. Harlan B. Ratmeyer places second. In the KEBB contest, Ratmeyer wins first with Kenneth Sehaap second. cash prizes are provided by Mr. A B Van Houweling of Pella.
A Temple Time rally will be held at the First Reformed Church of Pella on Friday evening November 30 with Rev. Henry Bast as speaker. The Temple Time choir under Ralph Nielsen will provide music and Rev. Herman Ridder will preside. A laymen committee from the four Reformed churches oversees plans, with Frank Bakker as general chairman and Melvin Vos and Vernon Boat arranging details.
