The State Conservation Commission met in Des Moines May 6 and 7 to name the new state park under development in Decatur County. Located in Hamilton Township near Davis City, the 1000 acre site recalls the area’s early Nine Eagles post office, chosen after commissioners spotted nine eagles in a tree.
The Towa Office of the Federal Housing Administration reports no houses for sale in Iowa at present. FHA State Director O A Brandt notes eight Iowa properties acquired after default through April have all been resold, leaving no current inventory of foreclosed homes.
State Director Brandt notes FHA has insured 6,760 home mortgages in Iowa since June 27, 1934, totaling 26.85 million dollars. He highlights the low rate of foreclosed properties and credits sound risk rating, property standards, and locational requirements. The plan’s equal monthly payments cover interest, principal, insurance, and taxes to avoid lump sums.
Farmers in the west central part of the county will meet at Springdale school tomorrow night to discuss a soil conservation program. Clay Burnett and Lyall Mitchell of the Marion County Soil District and Soil Conservation Service will attend and show pictures of activities. A similar meeting was held last Monday at the Nepal store as farmers sign cooperative agreements and officers visit farms.

The Iowa State Commerce Commission set June 3 1941 at Des Moines for a hearing on a petition by Pella Cooperative Electric to erect and maintain transmission lines and wires over routing in Marion County Iowa. The notice requires written objections five days before the hearing and urges representation by someone with authority to act for the objector.
