Abandoned Camp of Tourist Proposes Pool Plan
In Pella a businessman proposed building a municipal pool on donated ground with an $8000 facility, to be financed by a corporation and guaranteed by bond coverage. He pledged a seven percent return to the financing group and a three year payoff, though locals worried Sunday closings and policing would affect revenue and safety. A committee of Wilson, Black, and Mitten was formed to seek financing support.
