Colorful Stage Set To Heighten Tulip Time The Red Mill
Local crowds at Pella Tulip Time will view a grand outdoor stage for The Red Mill in West Market Park. Designer Don Jacobs of Newton, Central College sophomore, crafted a 50 by 30 foot open air set with a 36 by 85 foot proscenium arch and a 20 foot tall Red Mill backdrop. The exhibit features Katwyk aan Zee homes, a Dutch inn, and a moonlit balcony as Gretchen performs. The elaborate scenery aims to transport 1906 Holland to festival night shows during the eleventh Tulip Time.
