Supervisors Weigh Real Estate Appraisal Experts
The board of supervisors weighs hiring an outside firm with real estate appraisal experience to assess Marion County towns and countywide property values. If hired, a complete records system would cover every parcel, aiming for unbiased, expert oversight and fair taxation. Local examples show costs vary, with Polk Wright and Chariton cited. Chariton reported improved tax fairness after its city-wide appraisal. The decision awaits full consideration before action.
