Obituary of Gerrit Vande Kieft of Prairie City
Gerrit 11 Vande Kieft born June 26 1889 in Utrecht Netherlands came to the United States at age nine settling near Pella. He married Sarah Boomsma in 1915 and farmed in the Pella and Mitchellville areas before retirement to Prairie City. He served as Justice of the Peace and on the Jasper County Board of Supervisors and was active in the Prairie City Christian Reformed Church. He died April 26 at 71 with survivors including his wife five children nine grandchildren and several siblings. Funeral services were held April 28 at the Prairie City church with burial in Waveland cemetery.

William A Ver Meer 84 longtime Pella resident died at his son Gysbert Ver Meer RR 2 Pella on Sunday April 30 1961 He was born December 9 1876 four miles east of Pella He married Martena Vos March 11 1909 in Pella Survived by son Gysbert four grandchildren and two brothers Funeral May 2 at First Christian Reformed Church with Rev John A De Kruyter officiating Burial in Oakwood Cemetery

Henry Van Der Beek born March 2 1874 Almskerk Netherlands immigrated to the United States at 15 settling in Alamosa Colorado. He married Elizabeth Goemat March 1 1900 at Pella Iowa and had two sons John H. and Abe. He lived on farms early then moved to Pella 1927 remaining active in farm work. He attended Farmers Night School for 23 24 winters and valued neighbor work. Mrs Van Der Beek died June 1 1960. Henry died April 28 1961 at Pella Community Hospital aged 87. Surviving two sons wives four grandchildren seven great grandchildren one brother John Vander Beck. He was preceded by four sisters and eight brothers.
