Warren Bridge Replacement Planned in Mahaska County
Plans to replace the Warren span over the North Chiquaqua river in Richland township with a 333 foot steel I beam bridge are awaiting state and federal approval. The project, funded largely by postwar farm to market programs, moves the roadway west and widens approaches to ease flooding and traffic. If approved, construction could begin this spring with a 24 foot roadway and improved flood protection for the area.
