Holland and Britain tied in fate of the war effort
Dr. C W de Kiewen argued that Holland has relied on Great Britain for security for a century and will regain freedom if Britain wins. He traced Dutch policy from a Golden Age to a 19th century neutrality alliance with Britain, warned of German blitzkrieg's defeat of Dutch defenses, and urged continued American aid. He doubted a League of Nations would prevent future conflict, predicting a Rim of Europe alliance with Britain and the United States maintaining balance of power while Germany is demilitarized. He urged teaching German youth restraint and foresight for a renewed postwar era of cooperation.
