December 6 1954 special council session notes
The council met in special session December 6 1954 at 7 PM to canvass the November 30 1954 special election and authorize publishing Ordinance 140. The city solicitor opined on Ordinance 141 affecting all current and future buildings and a nuisance abatement was ordered. Road paving discussions with the county were approved and bids on tires and a new roof were considered. Bills and reports from the electric dept and city funds were approved, and a survey for storm sewer extensions was ordered.

Pella Iowa Council Acts On Traffic Ordinance and Budgets
The January 4 1955 Pella Iowa city council adjourned after adopting Ordinance No 148 regulating traffic and street use. Minutes from December 21 1954 were approved. permits to sell cigarettes for Donald and Pauline Kamerick approved. A free telephone service lease for city departments approved. Several street and water projects including a West Third Street water main and sidewalk were approved along with bids for water main extension. A December 7 1954 meeting minutes were approved and numerous payments to municipal departments listed. The council discussed light plant needs and authorized Brown Engineering Co to survey a new pipe line to the cooling tower and boiler. The electric light superintendent reported activity for the month including new connections and coal usage.
