Hoekman in Japan with Yank Army on occupation duty
Corporal Andrew Hoekman of Clinton Wisconsin, son of Mr and Mrs Joe Hoekman, serves with the Third Engineer Combat Battalion in the 24th Infantry Division on occupation duty in Houshu Japan. He entered the army in April 1946 and previously served in Okayama. He holds the Asiatic Pacific campaign ribbon World War II victory medal and the Japanese Occupation medal. He attended Pella high school before moving with his parents to Wisconsin.

Judge Reinstates Trustees Clash Over Kletzing College
Mahaska County Iowa judge Frank Rechly ordered the dismissal of Kletzing College trustees in Oskaloosa after ruling they departed from the gift conditions by turning the school into a Nazarene institution. The Kletzings sought removal to maintain nonsectarian oversight and equal Holiness faith consideration. New trustees will be appointed this week.
