Forty Gallon Still Seized by Sheriff
A forty gallon still and liquor making equipment plus several jugs of moonshine were seized on the Oscar Larson farm during a raid by Sheriff Ralph N. Baker Deputy Clyde Updegraf and Constable D S Bonwell. A new automobile loaded with liquor making material was also captured. Oscar Larson was arrested and jailed in Wapello county awaiting hearing before Judge FE K Daugherty. Officers are seeking a man named Buck Randall of New Sharon believed to own the car. County Attorney E K Bekman plans to present Larson on a charge of maintaining a liquor nuisance.

Mrs Madge Lee Gerrard 17 died when a bolt struck the Lee home in Centerville Iowa late yesterday injuring her father John Lee and sister Florence 12 and injuring her seven months old son. The death marks the second lightning fatality in Appanoose county in two weeks following a Rathbun incident where farmer Mike Kauslarich was struck and killed while milking.
