Ester or Amine 2 4 D For Farm Use
Iowa State Extension weed specialist Otto Hoffmann explains two 2 4 D forms ester and amine. Amine needs six hours before rain for maximum kill while ester works after immediate rain. Amine is safer near alfalfa clover gardens and flowers due to fewer fumes though direct spray can harm beans. Follow manufacturer directions for correct mixtures. about 4 pounds of pure 2 4 D per gallon of amine concentrate, with ester rates varying. Cancer was recorded by ancient Egyptians in 1500 B C.
