The 1936 Hope College commencement in the First United church honored thirty six graduates with diplomas and honors. Dr Wynand Wiekers, president of Hope College, delivered the evening address with music by Miss Marjorie De Wit and others. Awards included the Senior Excellence medal to Andrew Klyn and the American History prize to Margaret Jansen. Degrees of Doctor of Humane Letters and Doctor of Divinity were conferred on named faculty and clergy. Magna Cum Laude and Cum Laude honors noted for several students.

Timing depends on weather. in wet seasons apply within 10 days after the calyx spray, in normal seasons within 14 days. The spray should include lime sulfur to prevent disease, with low scab risk noted for western Iowa.
