New Currency Circulating With Smaller Bills

Banks began distributing the new currency last week after treasury approval. The bills are smaller, harder to counterfeit, and simpler in design with a single portrait per denomination. Back colors are green, fronts black, seals blue for silver certificates, green for federal reserve notes, red for United States notes, and brown for national bank notes. Officials estimate most old notes will be out of circulation within four to five months, with full recall by 1930. Under Secretary Odgen L.
