Cows Need Comfort During Hot Weather
Dairymen can keep milk production steady in heat by providing temporary shade 9 to 10 feet high with a pole frame and woven material. Place shade on high ground with space to prevent crowding and ensure ample water, since it takes 4 to 6 pounds of water to produce 1 pound of milk. If water is distant, cows should be brought in at noon.
