Fly Control Lessons For Summer From Iowa State College Experts
Town families are urged to lead a home fly control program to protect health all summer. Steps include keeping garbage in covered containers, removing waste regularly, washing containers weekly with boiling water, spraying with five percent DDT, screening and auto-closing doors, applying DDT to door and window frames, keeping yards clear of debris, and coordinating with neighbors for wider protection. Farm or outskirts residents should double their efforts. Free DDT guidance is available from Iowa State College in Ames.
