Understanding Not Condemnation of South Africans
Dr. M J Hoffman argues that Americans should seek understanding of South Africa’s racial issues rather than condemnation. He cites tourism, finance, and cultural exchange as joint benefits, urging student exchanges, professor deputations, and clergy visits to foster mutual insight and reduce Cold War propaganda exploitation.

Tuberculin Test And Chest X rays Find TB Cases
TB is a leading killer among 15 to 35 year olds but is curable if treated early. Doctors use tuberculin skin tests and chest X rays to detect exposure and possible active disease. Early diagnosis prompts hospital treatment and protects classmates and teachers through screening programs in some districts.
Tuberculin Testing In Schools Aids TB Case Finding
Tuberculin testing of school children can help identify undiagnosed tuberculosis in the community. A positive reaction in a young child suggests exposure from a family member or frequent contact. X rays and other tests in this circle may reveal a healthy person in early disease stages who may spread germs. The skin test aids diagnosis of active tuberculosis but is not sufficient alone.
