Nellie Visser daughter of Cornelius and Tuintje Visser was born April 8 1878 near Rotterdam Netherlands and died June 29 1982 at her home in Pella at age 78 years 2 months 26 days She moved to America at age eight and settled in Pella She married Aart Van Roekel on February 15 1900 They had nine children eight surviving Louis A Mia and Connie Polm Iowa Stephen Omaha Nebraska Arthur H H Des Moines Marjorie Mrs Lester Van Gorp Sulls flown Dorothy Mrs William Slickers South Dakota and John G Fort Meade She was a member of the Sse Sheeoun Reformed church and remained active in church life until her death Funeral services were held July 2 1952 at Van Dyk Funeral Home and Third Reformed Church with Rev Redeker officiating interment in Graceland Cemetery.

She came to the United States at age ten settling Long Island fourteen years then moved to Sully in 24th year. Married Sept 17 1891 to Louis L Renaud with two children Victor B preceded her in death and Perle Florence now Mrs Dave Halbloom of Sully who lived with her after her husband died eighteen years ago. Survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Funeral Thursday July 3 at 2:00 p.m. First Reformed Church Sully officiated by C H Brown and Thomas McMillen Des Moines pallbearers listed.
