Knoxv ille Man Sends Letter From Ill fated Ship
Knoxville Iowa July 9 J L Dickerson Saturday exhibited a grim reminder of the hazards of flying in the form of a letter he had addressed to his company while in California last winter. The letter mailed from Long Beach January 10 never reached its destination as the ship piloted by Maurice Graham crashed in a snowstorm in the western mountains. The crash relic has not been found for ten days, and Graham's body remains missing. The message bore the stamp mail delayed because of the mail plane accident. The letter, though rain soaked, was not damaged. Dickerson plans to keep the envelope as a memento of intrepid pioneer airmen who gave their lives to speed the mail through.
