Iowa State College engineers warn farmers that corn moisture above 21 percent risks spoilage if not dried or preserved. With moisture over 25 percent, selling soon or drying becomes essential to avoid market disruptions as warm weather approaches. High moisture corn already appears in the western corn belt and Central Illinois reports wet conditions.

Mrs Catherine Thomason hosted the Neighborhood Club in January with ten members present. Carol Crane of Boone recently avoided a pelvis fracture after a four fall and is a Boone hospital patient. Mrs Emma Woods becomes head pharmacist at Gilfillian Clinic Bloomfield Iowa, moving with her son Bruce. clinic has nine physicians. Mrs Woods is Drake University trained and previously with Methodist Hospital Des Moines. Future work starts in February. Various residents visitations and gatherings noted including Rev Harley Peters Oska Loosa at Baptist Church, and several social events such as Scatter Good Club, Methodist Sunday School, and birthday dinner for Mrs Norma Warner with Des Moines guests.
