County profits by dairy cattle herds rise in Marion County

Marion county gains about 100000 yearly from soil fertility linked to dairying per Blue Valley Creamery Institute. Data from many farms shows 7.4 tons of manure per cow valued at 2.60 dollars per ton, yielding roughly twenty dollars per cow. With 5000 dairy cattle, added soil value grows substantially. Institute notes 25 to 50 percent higher feed profit possible via improved feeding, as shown by Minnesota University dairy trial.
