County Contest Still Unsettled

County offices of recorder and treasurer remain unsettled after last reports. The Long Brillhart race for recorder had Long ahead by one vote on questionable ballots. Twelve Republican tickets showed a mark for the head of the ticket crossed, with a mark in front of Long’s name on the Democratic line, leading to a two to one tally crediting those ballots to Mrs Brillhart. The Democratic side argues those marks indicate a scratch for Long or a spoiled ballot. Long has appealed.
