Forgery Suspect Apprehended At Burlington Depot
Chariton Lender Harold Johnson of Maid Rite in Chariton helped arrest R. Darrell Cooley of Knoxville on forgery charges. Cooley used a check drawn to Raymond Kenney and signed by Carl Sutherland for five dollars at a Maid Rite, then denied writing it. Sheriff Ward said Cooley is on parole from Anamosa reformatory. he will be sent to Knoxville for arraignment.

Indianola Tribune reports engineer Charles Stagers aged 50 died of heart disease Friday morning in Des Moines while climbing into his Rock Island engine cab for a Des Moines Ottumwa run. He lived near Indianola with wife and two children and was buried at Valley Junction. Coroner William Carpenter ruled heart failure.

Girl Dies After Truck Runs Over Eleventh Year Old Evelyn Six
Evelyn Six eleven year old former Milton girl living near Bloomfield was struck by a Hill Transportation Co truck at the Lincoln Hotel corner in Bloomfield. She died in Ottumwa hospital that night. The driver Earl Hill says she darted into the street as the truck moved forward and his front fender struck her.
