Soil District Achievements High in 1941
The Marion County Soil Conservation District reports 1941 as a year of definite progress with 121,436 acres surveyed, more than a third of the county's land in farm use. It notes 37 cooperative agreements signed by 49 farmers and tenants, naming numerous individuals and groups. Fourteen groups requested surveys and planning, with eight plans completed and surveys begun on eight more, under the leadership of various county figures. The commissioners praise widespread cooperation and urge all landowners to study the revised county-wide Work Plan with support from local agencies and leaders.
