P H S home making girls received a Handy Point electric washer as a late Christmas gift due to wartime constraints. It marks the first time the department has its own washing machine, previously sending laundry out at cost. The Mundy Point apartment size washer will serve freshmen to seniors weekly for towels, covers, aprons, clothes, and ironing board covers. Gratitude goes to Mr C C Buerkens for the economical gift.
