Fire at Capital City coal mine destroys Poe residence
Albert Poe, foreman at the Capital City coal mine, lost his residence and contents in a rapid morning blaze that also consumed an empty outbuilding. A crib of corn and the barn were saved. Poe carries game insurance likely insufficient to cover the loss. The incident disrupts Poe’s constant work presence at the mine.
