Church activities include bandage making, Banner Bearers, and Merrymakers Club gatherings. World Day of Prayer planned February 17 at Otley church. Birthdays, open houses, and neighborhood parties are recounted, with many local residents named.
Central College selects Ma Gamma Pi music honorary leaders for All College Sing. General chairs Jack Gosselink of Chicago and Cathy Hammesfahr of Wallkill, with freshmen director Sharyl Sodeman Ottumwa and Quentin Kuyper Pella. Sophomore Barbara Boat of Pella and Jack Gosselink again, juniors Beth Johnson Knoxville and Keith Kruen Edgerton, senior Martyn May Lincoln. Each director selects one sacred and one secular number.

Beaver trapping records show an 80 pound animal caught near the area. This year trapping occurred before the closing of the money rat and skunk seasons, with skunks and foxes also noted among the species trapped.
