A Scranton, Pennsylvania originator named Jay Archer created Biddy Basketball for children ages 8 to 11. The game reduces court size to 50 by 30 feet baskets at 8 1 2 feet, a junior ball, 12 foot foul line, six fouls allowed, and six minute quarters.
Four years ago in December 1946 the all high school play Sus pens It was a mystery comedy in three acts. It was considered one of the best mysteries a high school group could produce. In January two years ago another play was in progress staged by the Dramatic Club at the Christmas Musical. The name was Why the Chang. Students who took part included Doug Jantz Logan Van Sittert Ronald De Bruin Patty Rysdam Vivian Valste Dale Jarman and Leo Van Vark. Three years ago in an editorial Mary Jane Menniga explained Christmas spirit as something hard to define yet wonderful and to be felt by all. In 1948 the Student Council debated whether to have separate home room parties or an all high school party and decided on an all high school party. Nuff si.
The Marion County Superintendent's Club held its December meeting in Knoxville with a dinner at Knoxville Cafe. They planned the boys tournament in Pella for January 17 to 20, appointed Buerkens to attend the State Delegate Assembly in February, and set the next meeting for the fourth Thursday in January.
