They planned to return home after Christmas.
Mr and Mrs Larry Ireland of Knoxville welcomed a daughter born Thursday December 21 at Pella Community Hospital. Mr and Mrs Phil Visser of Pella welcomed a 8 lb 4 oz son, David Scott, born December 21 at the same hospital. Grandparents include Gerrit Visser of Pella and Pearl Allender of Mt. Pleasant.
The Home for the Aged Auxiliary hosted a December birthday party for residents with December birthdays. Honorees included Mrs. Lille, John Van Houweling, Peter Keuning, and Mrs. Niemeyer, with prior celebrations held for others in November and October. The birthday committee, led by Mrs. Edward Patton, served coffee and cake as residents sang.

The Junior Helping Hand Society of the First Christian Reformed church held its annual Christmas party on Friday evening December 15 at Mrs. Ralph Vermeer’s home. Members exchanged no gifts, instead bringing toys to be sent to a mission field.
