In Marion County two sealers Dan Dieleman and Brownie Hudson work across Highway 14 from dawn to dusk sealing cribs. They handle 5 to 8 cribs daily and manage a backlog of 150 applications in order. Corn must keep for two years, moisture limits 20% for eight feet 18% for ten feet 16% for twelve feet. Top price is 57 cents per bushel for 15% moisture or less, with about 2 cents deducted for sealing and insurance. Farmers bear rat damage costs if corn loses grade. To seal, go to Knoxville and pay 3 dollars, refunded if accepted. Backlog will be cleared as quickly as possible. Economists expect no feed price drop. a government loan aids rising markets with nonrecourse protection.

Horsemen to Hold Meeting Near Pella on Thursday
The Horsemen of the Pella community will meet at Gerrit Tysseling's home two miles east of Pella on Thursday December 22 at 9:00 AM. Harry Lynn, field man for the Horse and Mule Breeders Association and newly appointed secretary of agriculture, will discuss horseman problems. After noon dinner in town, demonstrations will start at 1:00 PM with hitching and driving. Farmers interested in horses are urged to attend.
